“More than a decade ago, when I first heard Hila Sedighi recite her powerful poem “Sabz Ast Dobâre,” I knew I would one day compose music for it. Her timeless poem written in the context of Iran’s political and social struggles, while capturing the ache of a nation and its people, at its heart is a poem of renewal, resilience, and the inevitability of hope, all captured through Hila’s masterful use of imagery “Once More, All Is Green” is a musical tribute to these themes of collective strength, renewal, rebirth, and awakening. It is a wish for the healing of society, of memory, and of individual wounds. It looks toward a future where light returns and people reclaim their freedom.

My concept for the video draws inspiration from the grandeur of the Mughal courts, where art, beauty, and performance intertwined in exquisitely crafted spaces. By invoking the spirit of these historic settings where women performed with grace and expressive power, surrounded by beautiful architecture and rich textiles, the performers become storytellers. Their gestures carrying both delicacy and strength, while the visual world around them, its colors, patterns, and light, create an atmosphere of timeless refinement. In this way the performers serve as vessels for meaning and the expression of inner worlds."
